Description photo The Wooster Opera House was located in the 200 block of East Liberty Street. It was built in 1887 at a cost of $90,000. The offices for city officials were located in the front on the first floor. The rear of the 1st floor was for the fire department and engine house. The upstairs was for the use of the fire department. The opera house portion of city hall was in the central part of the 1st floor (DR Dec 11, 1986) (Bowen's History of Wayne County, Ohio p. 418). In the Wooster Daily Record on Feb 17, 1959, their was an article that reported that City Hall was condemned. It was razed shortly thereafter. Wooster's new Municipal building was dedicated May 6, 1962. — in Wooster, Ohio.
